Disco Fever!
Halloween Disco proves popular!
A massive thank you must go to the PTFA for organising and running their latest event, which was a Halloween disco. It was great to see everyone come to it dressed up in various spooky outfits. Thank you to DJ Kev for being the Master of Ceremonies and for helping the occasion be a true success.
The normal seasonal illnesses are rearing their head, so please keep reminding your child of practising strong hand hygiene and encouraging them to cough into their elbows. Staff have also been affected by illness, so I had the pleasure on Monday of covering Dragonflies with some of our Year 2 children and at the end of the week I covered Mrs. Bunker in Reception to enable her to complete the Reception Baseline Assessments. Both classes were very well-behaved and I enjoyed the opportunities to get to know our children even more. That is the only downside of being a Headteacher, you end up losing the ability to forge that day-to-day relationship with a class of your own. However, covering is the next best thing.
Thursday saw M&M Productions return to showcase their version of Oliver Twist and it proved extremely popular with everyone. The informative workshop afterwards was also interesting for the Year 2 classes to gain a behind-the-scenes look into a touring performance. All children behaved well and staff used the occasion to stimulate a recount of what they had experienced. Next year, we have Alice in Wonderland to look forward to.
On the same day, children also commemorated World Mental Health Day by writing and drawing whatever they felt helped them remain calm in readiness for a lovely lemon display.
Next week, on Friday, we have a non-uniform day in exchange for a Harvest Festival donation of foodstuffs.
Have a great weekend everyone!
