Remember, Remember...!
Bonfire Night and Remembrance Service in the same week!
It was an extremely important week for the children to demonstrate one of our values of Respect by participating in our community Remembrance event held around the village memorial. Here, the children learnt how we commemorate the fallen from two world wars and the conflicts since; those who gave their lives to secure and maintain our freedoms. The behaviour at the service was impeccable and makes me proud to be Headteacher of such wonderful schools.
It was lovely to see classes going over to the Junior site to use the Immersive room to help the children learn about fireworks and firework safety. The children enjoyed letting off the rockets virtually; much safer this way than in real life. Again, the children were so well behaved and enjoyed being in the room immensely. We just need to get Mrs. Bird to put the air conditioning on - or perhaps she was just trying to imitate the heat from the bonfire. Who knows?
Next week, we start Monday with our nod to Anti-Bullying Week by wearing odd socks. On Friday we end the week with a non-uniform day in exchange for a £1 donation which will all go towards Children in Need.
Have a great weekend everyone.
